Cherryl R. Thames

Cherryl R. Thames is the Founder and CEO of Hidden Treasures Coaching and Training LLC, a Best Practice Certified - Business/Career Coaching and Professional Development Training company dedicated to helping individuals, groups and businesses maximize their potential and excel in their endeavors.

She is a subject matter expert in leadership development, human performance improvement, team building, and human/customer service training. Cherryl spent most of her first career in management positions at SBC/Ameritech. She held a variety of positions in line operations, human resources, training and development, internal consulting, customer service staff, and reengineering projects. In the early 1980's she was appointed as the company's representative for a nationwide project with AT&T in New Jersey. At the divestiture of the Bell System she relocated to Illinois to lead and support several transition projects. Of which included the development and delivery of a three-week customer service and support systems seminar for five Japanese telecommunications company managers. In 1988, Cherryl returned to Michigan, as expected, and achieved numerous career aspirations. Included in this self-directed career pathing were positions as Service Center Manager, Training Delivery Manger, Organizational Development Consultant, Assistant Director Collections - Ameritech Cellular, and Human Resources Director - Ameritech Advertising.

Prior to launching Hidden Treasures Coaching and Training, LLC, Cherryl built a foundation on numerous professional development and training certifications and an impressive number of leadership positions in professional and servicing organizations.

Cherryl has a Bachelor degree from Roosevelt University in IL where she graduated with high distinction and is a member of the Franklin Honor Society. She achieved National Dean's List status and was selected as an Outstanding Young Woman of America. She is a founding member of the Midwest Section of NCNW, Past President - Board of Directors for the Oak Grove A.M.E. Church's Day Care Center and Kindergarten, Past-President Southfield-Lathrup Optimist Club, former Michigan District Optimist New Club Building and Leadership Development Chair, a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Coachville School of Coaching, Hope United Methodist Church, South Oakland County NAACP, Board of Trustees - Southfield Community Foundation, 46th District Court - Recovery Court Advisory Board and was recognized in 2004 by the Women's Informal Network as one of the Most Influential African American Women in Metropolitan Detroit.

Coaching, training, and consulting relationships have included clients from Ameritech, Detroit Entrepreneurship Institute/Women's Enterprise Center, Leadership Canton, Mary Kay Inc., Oakland County, Southfield and Dearborn District #7 Public Schools, L.I.F.T. Women's Resource Center, Detroit Regional Chamber, VA Maryland Health Care System, the University of Michigan, The Mobile Medical Group, UBS, Cream of the Crop Publication, Michigan Business & Professional Association, Civitan International, Marshall Aluminum, ...

A semi-native Detroiter, Cherryl resides in Lathrup Village.
